I'm originally from Southern Indiana and grew up surrounded by sisters, so you could say I got an early education in relationships, communication, and navigating different personalities. But what stayed with me most was how my family showed love. Love wasn't measured by material things. It was shown through presence, support, time, and simply being there when someone needed you. Those lessons stayed with me and shaped how I see relationships, how I treat people, and what I believe really matters.
That upbringing also sparked my curiosity about human behavior. Why do we connect effortlessly with some people while completely missing the mark with others? Why are we drawn to certain people? And why do we sometimes overlook the very things we say we're looking for? That curiosity grew into a fascination with what truly brings people together, moving beyond just a great first date to what makes two people want to build a life. Turning that passion into a career in Matchmaking was the most natural next step. Yet somewhere along the way, dating started feeling like online shopping where you swipe left, swipe right, and add to cart. But people aren't products, and connection isn't something you can order off Amazon.
If there's one thing matchmaking has taught me, it's that attraction is only part of the equation. Chemistry matters. Sex matters. Intimacy matters. Let's not pretend otherwise. But when you look beyond the chemistry, I believe most of us want the same things. We want someone who chooses us, understands us, and genuinely enjoys being around us. Ultimately, the best relationships happen when two people can be themselves, create their own little universe, and still have a hell of a good time together.
